What is the attire?
Our ceremony and celebration will be held outdoors at a nice venue, so please dress in formal attire (think cocktail or nice dresses, dress shirts, slacks, etc.). While we love casual vibes, we kindly ask that guests avoid old jeans and t-shirts for the occasion and opt for a dressier look. We promise we won't make you do any ranch-hand work! Be sure to bring a jacket or wrap in case it gets cold later in the evening.
The terrain is grassy and uneven in some spots, so we recommend choosing shoes that are comfortable and stable—block heels, wedges, boots, or flats are great options!
Can we bring our kids?
We absolutely love kids and are so honored that you’re planning to celebrate with us. That said, we wanted to share a little heads-up—our venue is a ranch with open terrain, animals, and a few spots that might not be the safest for little ones. For that reason, we’re encouraging guests to consider making it a grown-up getaway if possible.
Of course, we completely understand if that’s not doable—just let us know what works best for your family. We’re so grateful you’ll be part of our day!
What will the weather be like?
As we look forward to celebrating with you on September 20th in beautiful Somerset, California, we wanted to give you a little heads-up about the weather. Early fall in the area is usually lovely, with sunny days and cooler evenings. Daytime temps are often in the mid-70s to low 80s, but it can dip into the 50s once the sun sets.
Since our wedding will be mostly outdoors, we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for later in the evening, just in case it gets chilly. Layers will be your friend!
We can’t wait to share this special day with you under the open sky!
Should we plan to stay close to the venue or drive home?
We highly recommend staying overnight near the venue on Saturday! The wedding is in Somerset, California, where the roads are small, winding, and can be tricky to navigate—especially after a night of celebrating.
To make things easier and safer, we suggest finding a nearby Airbnb or local stay. Besides, it is a beautiful area so enjoy some extra time there! We’ll be sharing some recommendations and options under the Accommodations section on our website to help you plan.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you and want everyone to have a fun and stress-free weekend!
Can we stay at the Ranch?
Yes! For those looking to stay close to the celebration, we do have a few campsites available right on the ranch. It’s a bring-your-own-tent or trailer setup and costs $40 per person, per night, which includes a continental breakfast the next morning.
We’ve got nice bathrooms and showers available so campers can get ready comfortably. We also welcome RVs (up to 30') and trailers (up to 26'), though please note—there are no hookups.
Camping guests tend to bring a fun, laid-back energy to the weekend—and one of the best parts? No official lights-out time! 🌙✨
If you’re interested in camping, let us know early—spots are limited!
Which airport is closest to the venue?
The closest and most convenient airport to fly into is Sacramento International Airport (SMF). It’s about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive to Somerset, depending on traffic and exact location.
Other options include:
✈️ San Francisco International Airport (SFO) – About 3.5 to 4 hours away.
✈️ Oakland International Airport (OAK) – Around 3 to 3.5 hours away.
✈️ San Jose International Airport (SJC) – Roughly 3.5 to 4 hours away.
We recommend renting a car, as public transportation is very limited in the area and roads are rural and winding. If you’re planning to stay nearby, we’ll be sharing accommodation recommendations under the Accommodations section to make things easy!
Will Uber be available to take us to our airbnb if we don't feel comfortable driving after the reception?
We totally understand wanting to enjoy the celebration safely! Since the venue is in a more rural area, Uber and Lyft may not be reliable or available in Somerset.
To help with that, we’ll have hired a personal driver (a retired police officer with an 8 person van) available to take guests back to their nearby Airbnb or lodging after the reception. If you're staying close to the venue, you're covered—just let us know where you're staying ahead of time so we can coordinate. We have paid for the driver but consider a nice tip!
We want everyone to have a great time and get home safely!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The majority of the wedding and reception will be held outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the ranch. There’s a partially enclosed barn with some indoor seating, as well as a covered outdoor area for extra comfort and shade.
If it gets chilly in the evening, guests are welcome to pop into the lodge’s common room to warm up—and later in the night, we’ll have a cozy fire going to keep the good vibes (and warmth!) flowing.
We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a jacket just in case the temps drop after sunset!
